Back in 2009, singer-songwriter Aluna Francis had her music uploaded on then-popular website MySpace. Trawling the internet and immediately drawn to her timbre, producer George Reid reached out and offered to do a remix; from there AlunaGeorge was born.

Fusing together a unique blend of electronic/synth pop, left-field R&B, and UK garage, AlunaGeorge has worked together with a remarkable list of artists including Avicii, Jack Ü (Diplo and Skrillex), DJ Snake, Kaytranada, Flume, Bryson Tiller, Disclosure, Peking Duk, and Baauer to name a couple. Their track “You Know You Like It” gained new life when DJ Snake remixed it in 2014, presenting the duo with a massive hit and a music video now having garnered over 128 million view just on YouTube.

Their latest project, Champagne Eyes, debuted in October 2018. Its lead single, “Superior Emotion,” features Cautious Clay alongside the track’s sultry trap drums. R&B slow jam, “Cold Blooded Creatures”, followed, boasting a Bryson Tiller feature. The body of work, one heavily influenced by independence and women’s empowerment, has been described by Billboard as an EP that, “benefits from R&B, pop and dance elements, creating a cool, fearless vibe.”

Having toured as opening acts alongside Miguel for Sia’s North American tour in 2016 and playing all over Europe as Coldplay’s main opening act in 2017, it’s safe to say that Aluna has continuously been taking the world by storm.

It is important to note that Aluna Francis tours alone to represent AlunaGeorge.

Their musical style has been described as “advanced minimalistic polyrhythmic beats” infused with “bashment, experimental hip-hop, ‘90s R&B and house”, and the duo have cited inspiration from luminaries such as Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, James Taylor, and Aaliyah.

We couldn’t be more excited to present AlunaGeorge to you as she plays The Bee in an intimate and up-close show.
